Food is one of the three basic needs of us humans. If one is not fed well, he/she can’t do any other job well! The satisfaction one derives after a filling meal is immense, especially so when it is home food!

A homely meal is what every restaurant boasts of! That is our promise too! But, it is the tinge of the distinct Kumbakonam flavor that sets us apart! Team MSG, headed by our Founder – MD Mr. Hari Narayanan, has dedicated itself, to give you the taste of authentic Kumbakonam food, besides, other vegetarian North Indian cuisine.

Service, ambience and location contribute to the success of a restaurant. But the foremost criterion is the taste of its food, which is the determining factor for its enormous success.

 

The blessings of Lord Krishna and of the seers of ISKCON, brought forth the grand opening of Govinda’s, one of the few restaurants serving Sathvik (without onion and garlic) food in Tokyo, Japan. It was launched by Sri . M. R. Sethurama Iyer, the heir of the erstwhile Kumbakonam Arya Bhavan, known for its authentic vegetarian Kumbakonam cuisine. Given the Japanese food culture, serving them Sathvik food was quite a challenge and a major risk. But again, Govinda’s proved its excellence, solely by its food quality! It was ranked as the number one restaurant in Tokyo (2012). It is running successfully and is all set to scale further heights!

The grand success of Govinda’s encouraged us to get back to our roots. So, here we are, in Chennai, determined to give our best service in MSG Kitchen! The restaurant is named after Sri. M. S. Ganesan, the eldest son of Sri. Sethurama Iyer.

We, at MSG Kitchen, are all set to cater to the varying tastes of Chennai, through our lip-smacking vegetarian menu. The scintillating ambience and accessible locality adds to our advantage! The A/C and non A/C halls offer a variety of food ranging from the all-time favorites idli, dosa, to the schezwan noodles and creamy pasta of China and Italy.

We are proud to have Ms. Radhika Harinarayanan, who has contributed immensely to the success of Govinda’s, in our team in MSG Kitchen. A great soul and an excellent cook, Ms. Radhika, with her passion for the art, stimulates and satisfies starved palates with her own special food varieties!
